Scott steering damper

I spoke to a guy on Friday that had the Scott steering damper fitted to his 1200 GS, he says it made a huge difference, my wife says her 1200 tailwalks quite a lot, and after doing a few kilo's this weekend on the back of my 1150 Adv, could not believe how stable it was, dirt roads of course.
The question is, who else has this item fitted and what is your opinion, is it worth R5500-00?
Does the 1200GSA suffer the same weave as the 1200GS?
