Motocross is alive in Bloem
« on: June 05, 2009, 05:31:39 pm »
I am going to post some of the pictures I took from races in Bloem here. I have to do it. RobC is putting immense pressure on me.... :director:

But it's worth a look. The guys from BORC do a lot of work to give racers from Bloem and elsewhere some insane tracks to ride.

First up some pics from a National Motocros race in bloem for the two wheelers.
The big names like Richard van der Westhuizen (727) were here and it was mad.

And then these that RobC were the most consistent on...the Quad nat event that was about two weeks ago. This was mad stuff. You have to have respect for these guys. To clear 7th heaven on the Bloem track with a four wheeler is something special.
There were a support class with 4 two wheelers. They still gave an incredible show.

a week ago the Motocros nationals was again held at the Shavron track just outside Bloem. crazy stuff. the guys were really flying and the competition was hectic. the track looked splendid and the crowd enjoyed the best of SA's motocros.
I also enjoyed the racing, so much that I for a change just stood watching and did not take pictures. I however did snap the last heat of the day. MX1 heat two, where there was an intense battle between Brian Kok (#88) and Richard van der Westhuizen(#1). Richie tried too hard to pass Kok in the last lap and took a tumble in a berm when he came in veeery hot. he did finish second for the day, but would have been first if he just stayed in second behind Kok.

Agreed, the track is awesome for the MX'ers.  Very positive feedback from Alfie and other Natal boys who came to ride, support, watch.  Good effort!  :thumleft:
