My neck of the woods 2 weeks ago...
"All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible."

Early morning mist in the Dargle Valley, KZN Midlands.
You can say any foolish thing to a dog, and the dog
will give you a look that says, ??My God, you're right!
I never would've thought of that!?

I walk 800m to my pickup point for the 50km commute to Uitenhage.. that's if I am not riding.
In the winterish months, its just right for a picture like this..  My street at sunrise. Makes a normal street a special street.
Old, grey, crafty...

You can do anything if you have enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes rise to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait, the grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas. Enthusiasts are fighters. They have fortitude. They have staying qualities. Enthusiasm is at the bottom of all progress. With it, there is accomplishment. Without it, there are only alibis.

Took Bella for a walk on Saturday/Sunday  ??? fark every day can't remember but anyho before I hijeck my own fred here goes.....

Decided to take the sidecar out for a spin since some muppets stole my little van recently so confided to two wheels and three wheels as Mrs Maverick has gone somewhere with her car. Besides she knows if I take the springer for a walk her car is trashed 2 minutes flat and we deny any knowledge of it

I haven't used the sidecar for a while being busy with like "stuff"  ::) Took a ride down to East Tilbury Fort also known as The Coalhouse Fort

Quote
Coalhouse Fort is a Victorian coastal defence fort set in parkland next to the river Thames at East Tilbury, Essex, completed in 1874, to defend the approaches to London from the perceived threat of invasion from France

They have lovely grass park land around the fort where you can have a picknik, wander about or keep the dog busy

Of course there is a nice walkway around the whole place edging on the Thames river with lush grass, mud and water which any decent Springer Spaniel won't miss for the world  :-[

Trying to get Bella to pose for a shadow pic seems to be not so straight forward

Some of the bunkers where I would assume guards spend many a wintery night awaiting the enemy

This footpath goes all along the Thames for miles on end and you could walk or cycle it should you think that is something cool to do  :eek7: I live about 5 miles in that direction where Tilbury Fort is situated

Amazing to see how big ships come up and down this river and just realise how wide and huge a river it actualy is.

View of the bunkers from the river side

Windows for dogs

A view of the Fort from a bunker window

There is fair size lake in front of the fort and my guess is at some point the river must of been around most of the place

Build pretty solid by the looks of those huge blocks

The bars in front of some of the windows suggests that this could of been part of the prison area or to keep people out  ???

A lonely little tree has now decided to start growing in the window

To think this was all done in the 1800's and still standing sturdy and solid

The entrance to the Fort which is closed today. I don't think these Forts attract alot of visitors being out in Essex.

Two huge canon barrels on the ground suggests that there must of been huge Canon's around the place before, I have been inside but could not see any evidence of extreme fire power for the size of this place.

Bella semi tired, wet and dirty ready to head on back home

Some of the small lanes on our way home, was about 3 degrees outside so struggled to take pics in the go.

Bella loving the wind through her doggy head

The end

damn those are some awesome spots. Nice bike and dog!!!
There are no short cuts to anywhere worth going!
Performance is paramount, niceties only exist if it doesn't affect performance.

Don't rush it, it's helmet time you need, not a destination. Take it easy.
