Sounds as if you'll be in the postion to do that...or you could see the Yukon Quest, IIRC it runs from Dawson to Fairbanks.

That's a very nice view. Must be tough having to sit out on the deck every morning and look at the ocean out there.

That's living.  8)

So I was inspired by Mark Hardy's city pics and last night I decided to do the following:

removed my screen
attached the RAM mount to the front of the bike
and connected my camera

Please no jokes about Narcissus. I feel embarassed enough already. What started out as an experiment turned to shame real quick. Imagine this: I stopped at a traffic light. Up pulls a car. the driver looks at me, looks at the camera facing me, looks at me again and shakes his head in revulsion. I felt like a turd and rode home. It's the last time I ever photograph myself again

Remember, I do these things so you don't have to :D

ISO 1600, F/14, 4sec

Really awesome pics. When I am big I wanna do the same.

And my dear friend. Next time a "he-knows-frokol-motorists" shake his head at you. Just show him a finger...your middle finger.

I herewith demand that you go back tonight and clicks some more pics.....the ladies next to the road between Greenpoint end Seapoint would make perfect models.....

LS, Nice photos! Next time someone shakes their head at you, just turn the camera in their direction

My first thoughts were that the pics were taken inside the Hugenot tunnel, but then I saw the colours. Really stunning effects! 8)

Very cool photos LS. Ja, I also sometomes get selfconscious when I bring out my Canon (Camera julle bliksems!!!), and try to capture the arty stuff. I enjoy photography, but I need to grow a thicker skin to really indulge in it more. Well done to you! :thumbright:

Hi

Just a few pics I took this morning to show you my neck of the woods.

I live in Hilton which is a misty little village with one traffic light, right on top of the hill about 10 km from Pietermaritzburg.

This is where I live

To get to town from my house I have got two options. The first is the easy route along the tar road. This route is taken when I am in my car or when I am going to see clients and can't get there covered in mud.
[/img]

This is the fun route. The tar ends about 100m from my gate, and from here it is all dirt and mud for the next 10km.

[/img]

[/img]

You don't have to go out of your way to find the mud monster, there is plenty of it around.

[/img]

There are numerous paths and tracks to choose from, including this old track where the railway line used to be.

After a couple of kilometers you get to this tunnel, it is only about 500m long, but it is curved so it gets pretty dark inside without a headlight.
[/img]

After a pleasant ride in the dirt you get to the tar which takes you into town.

The Natal Midlands obviously does not have the spectacular scenery that the Cape has, but it is great bike riding country, and most importantly, right on our doorstep.

[/img]
[/img]
How can I be lost when I have got nowhere to go?
