How was the 610 on this trip. I have just bought one and have only really ridden it around the block.
Hell man you're wasting a valuable asset!! Go ride the thing

I've said it before, and I know a lot of people here think its an exaggeration, but for me the 610 has to be one of the best DS bikes available!
It's an absolute pleasure to ride on that sort of terrain.
I battled a bit in thick river bed sand on day one, but that was lack of skill (only managed about 3-4 k's before calling it a day due to being completely shagged out - but I later realised I was constantly over correcting and thus wearing myself out. I didnt fall but was constantly about to which is really exhausting). By day 5 I was riding 20-30k's of river bed sand at a time, but while still getting a lot more tired than normal riding, it was doable. And I could get through deep talcum powder stuff that even the 4x4's were getting bogged down in - lots of practice by then. I learnt that riding deep sand is more like surfing than riding a bike, you got get enough speed to get "up" and then you steer more through your hips than anything else

)
Also the long sections of corrugated roads were easily handled by simply speeding up until you cant feel them anymore. The 610's suspension is superb and gives you great confidence when hitting bumps and rocks at speed as well. (Although I stand 99% of the time which definitely helps when hitting bumps etc because you can help the bike by flexing your knees).
The bike was 100% reliable on the whole 7 or so days of riding. Not one single glitch of any type. Even though I was expecting issues from long days of blasting over very badly corrugated or rocky/bumpy roads.
