..1001 things ATGATT is good for...
« on: July 07, 2009, 01:32:34 pm »
Let's see if we can make a list of 1001 things ATGATT is good for other than protecting you when you fall.

Here's two I experienced yesterday and today.

1. For protecting you against those pesky rocks flung up by trucks, not to mention the huge flying monstrosity bugs we get here in SA. I've had some bugs hit my helmet (the hard ones always do) that left scratches on the frikken visor!
2. For those times you just feel the need to get hard on the brakes and do that back-wheel-out-shouldering-a-taxi-mirror move you've been dreaming about on your morning commute. Slapping mirrors with your glove is for sissies!

You know, its all just part of getting to work for most of us, but post some crazy and humorous uses here.
Don't waste any more time.

In summer, dehydrating you to such an extent that a cold one can be justified!

The gloves are great. Protect your hands and forearms when you bath the cat.

I cornered a really angry cat that had been pissing in our house and eating our cats food. I was going to teach it that this is my house not his and that he is definitely not welcome it it.

Got all my gear on, helmet, jacket and heavy leather road gloves and managed to grab him. Without that kit I would have been shredded, as it was, I got a few good holes in me.

He was given a good dunking in the bath and then thrown out the back door. I could swear my one cat had a smirk on its face.

I've seen him around the neighbourhood, but he gives our place a wide berth.
I wonder where that gravel road goes? And that, has usually made all the difference. (Apologies to Mr Frost)

The leather gloves story, my missus went out the other night with a freind, stood by the lift, pressed button nothing, wait other one tries nothing, wait.....nothing for 10 minutes or so but the lifts are moving??? cleaner arrives presses button lift arrives..... says buttons do not work with leather gloves...

Kneeguards... for when you have to fix that trailer plug that the wires came loose... beats kneeling without knee protection on a gravel driveway. :thumleft:

Helmet...
Used as a defensive weapon when 3 tsotsis try and mug you as you come out of the bank, the old heavy fibereglass type is best for this application.
Helmet 0 - 3 Tsotsis man down! >:D

I checked a clapped - out 500 Honda, engin full of oil, nothing left of leather seat and no fairing left on bike today. The bike did not have a side - stand, the guy had simply stuck his helmet in were the side - stand should have been.
