At 1.9something metres and weighing 96kg I felt that I was too big for the bike
also, we never really bonded well so I started to itch and sold it perhaps a little too soon

Nice picture Lucky Strike! Sure you happy with the XChallange? Think if you maybe fitted progressive spring it would have been a nice bike, I can remember you were not to happy with the fork setup.

Hi Martin.  I also ride a DR650.  Quite an old one with 65K on the clock.  Pretty standard, it once belonged to LeCap, who is Cape Town's DR650 guru.  Look him up in the vendor section.  I'll see you on a ride soon.

Hi Martin, your bike looks good. I dig the bash plate.

I ordered my tank from Aqualine in Australia http://www.rvaqualine.com.au/
it was roughly R4,000 plus shipping and taxes
it holds almost 33litres so if you fill it up you will need better front shocks too - you only need that much fuel if you plan to cross the Sahara or the Australian outback

Scorch make really nice pipes and one will sound great on the DR. You can ask them to make it as quiet as possible so as not to scare the neighbours. Their pipes work out to be R2,000 or less depending on the extras such as carbon fibre wraps or aluminium caps

Thanx for the info lecap...
yeah i had to make the skidplate myself, cost me about R400,
im busy designing my own screen for the bike aswell,
U say that scorch pipes are loud for the DR??
I still wanna ask Raynard at scorch if he could giv me a guys numbr who hav them on - so I can hear how they sound,
coz I like scaring the nabours(excuse my english,im actualy afrikaans)
My dad has got akrapoviks on his 990 adv,and i love the sound they make and they quite loud,I would like something similar(the sound) :thumleft:
OH another thing, that bike with the yellow tank??-where can I find a tank like that??
Regards Martin
