2001 640KTM anyone know what this is

Hi Guys

Can any of the more knowledgeable WD help me to identify this, its on a 2001 model, 2007 model has toolbox in that position.
Only have 2007 model manual.

The one tube looks like breather or overflow, still have to take the tank off to see where the 1st tube come from.

...looks like a carbon/vapour canister (carb overflow catch tank). May be a California model - they use that crap to meet emission regulations in some US states.

My thoughts too. Might be connected to the crankcase breather.

It's a little active carbon filled filter sh!+ meant to catch and eliminate evaporating fuel fumes. You only need it if you live in California (All others ride their bikes before the fuel evaporates out of the tank :biggrin: )

Thanks for the help :) and yes its getting removed tomorrow and now we know exactly where the weldingrod holder is going to go... :biggrin:
