Race Dog
Ok, so I deceided to do a ride report, well a mini one. I figured that this is a initiation process to become a “true” wilddog.
It is Tuesday 21 July 2009 and I have checked the weather beforehand and decided to take my trusty old lady out to the forest to run her in a bit more after her complete engine rebuild. (she is now on 550km, after rebuild and slowly approaching 1000km) so I took it slow and I was easy on the throttle, eishh but that new pipe sounds lekker if I pull away and “look” to my right.
I started my circle route at Simola Golf Club (a couple of k’s northwest of Knysna). Mapsource told me 92km, but a small section of the road was not routable, for some odd reason. So I packed my mik n druk camera something to eat/drink, gloves etc. Arrived 8:45 @ Simola
From Simola I took a road that will join up with Prince Alfred Pass (connects the Langkloof/Karoo to the Coast)
Newly acquired GPS mount working lekker (Thanks GEE-SH)
I want to impress fellow dogs on my camera skills, So I stopped
took off my gloves to operate my camera, rode further waiting to get a lekker straight. Hey this is really fun!
By now my hands are cold. NO WHERE DID I PUT MY GLOVES???
Took a turnoff that will eventually lead me to the Wittedrift/Plettenberg bay road. I decided I will visit Angie's Gspot another time.
Not sure if this is a bosbou road? whatever man, I am enjoying every second.
Some mountain views
Time to turn in the direction of home
Local Bosdorp
Another “windgat” shot
Yip I am still going the right way
Lekker Picnic Spot
Way to Spitskop (really breathtaking views from here)
Yip that’s the road I must take, and yes I will be coming round the mountain ;D
Kom se Pad
Change of vegetation
Down to Gouna River (Dieprivier Heights)
and.....thats it. GPS readout at the end was 112km.
Cant wait till the next RR
