Unfair comparison !! well maybe.

They should compare two 800 GS's to and check how long it takes for one to break down or have a recall.  :pot:

Clinton may have a shrewd marketing brain, but hell, he needs a decent proofreader!
Maybe we will see a 800gs at the first day racing at Erzberg next year and BMW will leave the HP2 at home------Not F------ Likely. The 990 and the 800 a shootout ??? Give me the KTM for D/S riding anyday. ::)

You're to old for a KTM

Blazes

You should have a look at the results for the Erzberg. An 800 came 5th.
1st to 3rd was on KTM 950 Ė think the super enduro  and 4th was a was an HP2.

I agree. Unfair comparison.

It would be interesting to hear what would be considered a "FAIR" comparison?????
[/quote]

Put it up against a Fugly ;D
The 800 is already in a class of it's own.

Oh Shit My opoligies  :-[ Maybe its because the HP2 has now become a Moffie Bike after they castrate them --(without the owners permission) You know BMW has the right to keep the reliability thing going. :pot:

Take away a few HP and the KTM990 and BMW800 are head to head.
A closer match than 1200vs990 or any of the other comparisons that are out there.

Agreed.

I hope the article doesn't chicken out with a conclusion that they're both great bikes, you can't go wrong with either, blah blah blah.
