My valley for a change.

That is at Elands Heights. The road junction and police station is just a few km further along. You've done Naude's Nek and if you go straight you will hit Potrivier pass on the way to Maclear. If you turn left toward Mt Fletcher you will do down Pitseng pass into the Pitseng valley.

Interesting story, the police station there was supposed to have been built in Rhodes and the one in Rhodes should have been built here at Elands Height. The plans got mixed up and too late they realised the mistake. That is why you walk into the back door at each of those police posts.

Daai plek kan morsig raak as dit reŽn met daai rooi klei. Het daar mielies geplant op kontrak vir die swart boere daar. Een van hulle is nogal 'n goeie sukses verhaal. Die plase daar is onteien in die 1980's al en terug gegee aan Matanzima se mense.

Was a flippen awesome ride on the day. That purple tinge on the hillside to the left of the pic was fields of English Lavender. Whole valley was infused with the fragrance

Ah wait ... I think I've seen that... not from the road but on an incentive trip with graft we did a fly in to an extinct volcano site near Keetmans ...
... meh ... don't think I've got the photo's on dropbox from that trip .
