That's what I am trying to negotiate with NPA.  We were allowed into all the Lighthouses as I have the keys and they were happy to co-operate with us.  I don't believe that they will ever let the general public into all the Lighthouse properties unsupervised.  Legal issues, indemnities etc etc.  There are 6 Lighthouses open to the public and they have cottages and houses that have been converted into 4 star accommodation and these can obviously be arranged through Tazz or myself.  They are absolutely stunning places to stay!!  NPA is in the process of privatising these Lighthouses (I have leased mine for the last 5 years and believe that the mutually beneficial arrangement has been successful) and then I am hoping to put together short tours or the Big One if guys are interested.  The only charges will be direct ones and this will be a mechanism of marketing and branding the Lighthouse Experience.
After our experience, we believe that this is a magnificent way to see our coast as it gives a focus and structure and then at the same time you are being exposed to the environment and peoples.  I think that the trick would be to have a "green", mainly tar, route and then hunt down the dirt alternatives and plan the tour around that.  This would obviously make the trip much longer and require more skills and time, but heck, what a way to go!  The beauty is that the exit route back to home bases is also an experience in itself depending from where you are based.
I'd give my right hand to be ambidextrous!

Great and thanks for the reply - the organised tour thing ... yes - you should really consider that.

Will know more by end of October so will start planning then for Lighthouse Tour 2010.  Got 3 Italians who are interested!  Apparently they have done Lighthouse Tours in Holland, Germany and Croatia!

Lighthousekeeper, nice seeing all your photos up.  good that you guys had a safe one back from Springbok.
Still got to put our trip up.
I am going to work on my riding skill (especially in the wind) and if you guys are doing another lighthouse tour let me know.

Looking forward to your RR - shyte, it was cold and windy that day!  You guys were riding much better than we were at that stage!  The next two days turned us into reasonably good wind jammers.

Ok so yesterday I passed a GS with a topbox and a Lighthouse 2009 sticker on it.

Then this thread came to mind again and I wondered if the "regular" tours have taken off?

Hi there

Great RR, have there been any tours since this one and if so where can I read the RR? I have researched this ride and plan to do it this coming July 2016, hope to get to most of the lighthouses along the route God willing.

Will contact yourself or Tazz via email for more info

Regards

Lyle
