After our last bit of fun at Kakkerlaks I decided to spend the day riding the area with my son on his Eurotrac 250 and me on the KLR.
We had a great time exploring the area above the stream.
The went back along the stream, eventualy stopping for a braai in the river bed.
After the abovepic my camera fell into the water and I had to resort to the cellphone.
After walking along the stream we headed out on the bikes again
After a while the bushes over the path got way to low and after having to pull the KLR sideways under a few we decided this was way too much work and turned back.
Then we rode over the hills and valley to Jagtesvlakktes where we practiced some of the tricks learnt from the BMW training.
The flamingos were taking it easy
After that we rode around the pans and up the hill and headed for the area above old ford test track.
We took a path which I thought was one which went down to the valley were I had ridden before.
Took a right up to the top of another hill and explored the ridge on the opposite side.
Then took apath down to the riverbed.
The rode was very steep and rocky but I wasn't worried.
I new there was a river bed I had ridden before which we could get out.
Even when we scraped our pegs going through here I was greatful we did'nt have to go back up here
But alas.
When we got to the river bed it was full of water and way too deeep to ride.
We walked along trying to find a shallow path to follow but it just got deeeeper.
It was about this time I slipped on a rock and went right under the water.
Just my left hand holding the cell was dry. :imaposer:
We then had to back track up the impossible and circle around till we found a river crossing to the other side.
Then headed over the hill and valley to the old Ford TT, then along the power lines took a right to the gravel road.
Then we took the rocky path aI did with Bakkie a few months ago.
It was still K@K.
but the views were worth it.
I never took to many pics as we were having enough effort trying to focus on the ride.
Left the bush just as it was starting to get dark.
What a day. Started sweating at 9h00 and kept on sweating till after 5.
Nice and stiff the next day.
