Yesterday was a fail, didn't quite realise that the last stretch of the road was slippery mud. After a few km's, and a couple of near falls, i decided to turn around and avoid having to explain to the insurance how my bike ended up at the bottom of the mountain. Need to sharpen my off road abilities and skill first before heading to Diepgezet again, or maybe just go on a sunny day.
Must say though, the road between Barberton and the border is amazingly beautiful. Slow winding roads in the mountains and plantations. It was also great to see the old cable cart system between Swaziland and Barberton, must have been something to see when it was operational. The mist also made for a wonderfully relaxing trip, makes you feel as though you are the only person left on the planet.
Will be heading back that way on a dryer day
