Thinking of going to the ghost towns instead of touring KZN's battlefields for the next 10 or so days. Its a last minute thing, and quickly looked at a possible route that adds up to around 4 500km

Town on the route are as follows (just not in order)
1   Bonnefoi
2   Copperton
3   Daviesville
4   Diepgezet
5   Drazilville
6   Gumtree
7   Italian POW Village
8   Leydsdorp
9   Putzonderwater
10 Greylingstad
11 Petersburg

Seem to have found most of them on the map with some help from the internet, as well as the co-ords given above

Not final yet, still need to decide between battlefields or ghost towns. At this stage, I want to ride. just need to finish working for the night

What do you guys think?

For all those following this thread...I will be leaving on a ghost town tour in the morning after the sun rises from White river.

I agree, a ghost-town tour would be nice to do and also to stealth camp there, but visiting a ghost town one only really experience the feeling by visiting it solo for the first time, Putsonderwater to me was a nice experience doing it by myself.

From Kenhardt to Putsonderwater the first 30km can be a bit corrugated and sandy but after that the road is fine :thumleft:

At Putsonderwater, also walk to the old church and nearby, see the stone-built 'skaapkrale' with the word PUTZONDERWATER on it.

Was at Diepgezet today, very nice, but not as well kept as previously stated

Still nice to drive around and see the place, all buildings still intact and you can make out how the gardens used to look.

Met some people there that are going to clean the place up and convert it to a resort, they are going to start mid january. So i think that it might not be as accessable as currently

So go and have a look if you can before then!

I forgot my camera, but will be heading that way again soon
