I took my Boy to do the Baviaans this weekend to celebrate his 18th.This is our story.
Friday afternoon we loaded the bikes on the bakkie and left PE for Patensie. We arrived at our campsite ,Komdomo, @ 17;00.(R220.00 P.N. to pitch your tent).I would advize that one rather uses one of the private campsites further up the road.Better facilities for far less (R65 pp pn).Saturday the weather was perfect for an day in the saddle. The rivers was easy to cross due to the low water levels. The road was a bit of a challenge with some very rocky accents and decents. We are however newbies to this type of riding. We spent the night at ,Uitspan Guest Farm. The folks are biker friendly and their facilities are top notch.Bar(with dstv for the rugby),great wors and tjops, a cool dam to cool down in ,excellent camping facilities ,B&B or self catering.Camp fee was R65 p.p.They are situated 50km form Willowmore in the direction of the kloof. After a festive Saturday night with some fellow adventurers we took the road back through the kloof. We covered the 96km in aprox 4 hours. No stops , but we took it slow.(die kop ,hy was seer).I believe from others riders that you can do it safely in 3.It took us 6 hours Saturday. We took plenty of rests and the Tenere gave my right leg a good workout after each stop. Next adventure bike must have a happy button!!   Some pics:
