Hmm, in that case you may be interested to know that the BILTONG FEES is happening next saturday at Laerskool Bekker.

Actually next weekend you could do a festival crawl of note since there is the Biltong Festival , There's a rave at Hornbill Lodge most of the weekend, and then you can round it all off with the Wine Festival. I'm sure there is something else as well, but can't think of it right now.

Biltongfees: http://www.baiebiltong.co.za/

Rave party: Seems its very hush hush and underground, generally just pitch up at the gate. www.hornbill.co.za Those in the know, will know, you know!

Wine Festival :http://www.winefestival.co.za/

The Spring Wine Festival is held in aid of the Woodland Preparatory School in Magaliesberg. It is an outdoor festival and is held on a large country estate in the countryside of Magaliesberg, approximately 40 minutes drive from Johannesburg

Lush green lawn, trees to sit under and a river to stroll along!

Our emphasis is on tasting South Africa's best wines in a tranquil outdoor setting. To this end, more than 110 wine producers will present in excess of 600 wines for the adult tasters enjoyment. This is a family festival, with supervised entertainment for children whilst the parents relax and enjoy the wines in the countryside.

It is a relaxing, fun family day and you can enjoy wine as it was meant to be enjoyed! Relax and enjoy huge shady trees, lush green grass and an abundance of birdlife, while your kids have fun in the great outdoors! Jumping Castles & Supervised Entertainment for children will be available.

Here's the details for the rave:

http://www.blueworld.co.za/events/fu-cha-gathering-spring-festival-6-sep-2008

Remember your disco smarties......

Fu-Cha Gathering Spring Festival
10:00 AM 6 September 2008 - 18:00 AM 7 September 2008

The blossoming of a new beginning is upon us all as a celebration of 'unity',' 'love', and the 'adventure of life' is the theme for our next hugely anticipated Gathering, which kicks off a whole new season of adventure and festivities'

'Fu-Cha' has secured Hornbill's neighbouring property 'Pernasus',for the Spring Fest. providing more parking space and a secluded camping option on the banks of the Magalies River which is overlooked by a towering cliff face and is surrounded by natures beauty... Nestled in the heart of the 'Magaliesburg', the picturesque 'Hornbill ravine' is the home of 'Fu-Cha' and is ideally set to highlight these gatherings as a 'global' festival destination' in Gauteng…

…Come join us as we meander down the river to the 'energy', 'sights' and 'sounds' of 'da Fu-Cha'…

A Fu-Cha Gathering…a unique festival celebrating the 'spirit of the outdoors', 'electronic music', 'decorative art', 'nature’s beauty' and the 'culture of it's following' , is what best describes the 'energy' that encapsulates 'a Fu-Cha Gathering…

The most talented 'electronic music' acts and artists from around the country gather to perform away from the hustle and bustle of the city for two days, giving people a 'pleasure filled' festival atmosphere with their own place of comfort…

Nestled in the heart of the 'Magaliesburg', the picturesque Hornbill ravine is the home of 'Fu-Cha' and is ideally set to highlight these gatherings as a 'global festival destination' in Gauteng…

…be a part of the quest for 'Gauteng's' very own 'Dance Valley'…

..::A Fu-Cha Gathering…SRRING Fest…the riverside meander::..

@ The Hornbill Rock Pool & 'Pernasus' …Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th of September
…Gates open 10am Sat. 6th & music ends Sun. 6pm…

Great minds can think so alike! I just saw a poster this morning for the Geel Perske Mampoer Fees which is this Saturday at Thorndale lodge. Here's the link http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=435684565346 and here http://www.afeast.co.za/

I hear they are still taking entries for Mej Perske Bloeisel. Interested?

A few years ago someone died at the festival from alcohol poisoning. Talk about a martyr to a cause! I hope he wasn't cremated, would have probably blown up the crematorium!  :laughing4:

Good that someone uses it!

Probably the best for a day trip to the country is the Cellar Rats Wine Festival which is coming up in June sometime. I'll post the details when I find them. Its for funds for my kiddies education so you'd better arrive and drink otherwise my kids won't get an eduaction!  >:D
