Hey, you can't just click quote & send. That's too shallow. You must add some k@k first

Bla bla bla.

I think Lance Arsmtrong, who btw DID (and still do) use drugs  >:D, probably hit the nail on the head with his coining of:

"Its not about the bike"

Because its not.

Just get out there and ride and enjoy - and why care what someone else has chosen to do the same with.

Geez these types of threads are so boring and predictable (and yet I take time to post  )

Lance Armstrong se moer! Next race he can take my bike & see "how its not about the bike"...

Its about the bike...always has been & always will be.

The GS 800 i like & its easy to bash BMW for some guys....i just wish there was something to say about DR650's.... :peepwall:

Yawn! :bueller:

No no Pom, wake up! You can't go to sleep now. This is such an exciting discussion. The idea of comparing bikes and brands is a whole new concept, never seen before, and not to be missed!!!

:laughing4: :laughing4: :laughing4: :laughing4:

This forum seems to have two classes of members: Those who ride their bikes: Who cares what it is as long as it does not break? And those who endlessly discuss bikes and articles about bikes and accessories and their last dealer visit, service, repair ... wara wara ... wara wara.

It gets realy cool when the one class starts making fun of the other :evil6:
Why do there have to be classes in dogs ,who cares what bike you ride . Just get out there with the guys and have fun.

I agree,

We all share the same goal, adventure biking.

2morrow at 6 I will be departing from Boksburg, destination Jay bay and Baviaans.

The bikes:

2 GS 800's
1 Versys
2 KLR's

Who cares about the bikes, its about the company.

I did the Monte Capatone military road with a CB550F2 Super Sport and met a guy on a Harley Softail in Die Hel. You want to tell me this or that bike can't go here and there? It will as long as you've got enough money for the petrol.

That's the whole point.

We'll have 15 pages discussing the suspension of this R100k bike vs that one while any DS bike on the market can do more than what 99% of the riders on here will ever need.

Please note the heading of the thread:

BMW GS 800 AWARDED BEST DUEL PURPOSE IN THE WORLD 2009!!

     duel
     1. A prearranged, formal combat between two persons, usually fought to settle a point of honour.
     2. A struggle for domination between two contending persons, groups, or ideas.
     3. To engage (another) in or as if in formal combat.
     4. To oppose actively and forcefully.
     5. To engage in or as if in formal combat.

The way I see it the GS800 is the best bike to argue and fight about.  As a duel purpose bike its outstanding.   :thumleft:
