A few pics taken in Nam last week before a Big OFF cut the trip short with a broken wrist and cracked ribs.

I went down about 20ks after Solitair on the way to Swakopmund, subsequently found out it is a notoriously dangerous stretch of sand ... Should have known, met two young SA girls that rolled a Yaris on the same stretch earlier in the day.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME

I want a picture like that, etched first-hand into my mind..........

I do not think that dying is a good idea.
Living doing something that you love is a good idea.
Living until you die is a good idea. If living happens to kill you it means you made a mistake, but we are human, and humans make mistakes, so go for it, enjoy it, live until you die, rather than not living for your whole life.

Snowman, RovRat and I did that piece of road about a week after you and it was the fifth time Ive done that stretch and in some places it was BAD! It was OK when you could see the sandpatch coming. I just get it down to 3rd and crank it full open, but if youre looking around it could land you in trouble or in your case in the dust. Hope you recover quick and that your bike was not a writeoff.

Thanks ChrisL, have pondered over what went wrong but I think I tapped off instead of opened up and not enough speed. Waiting for the assesor to see the damage but I rode the Pig back so it should not be too bad.

Agreed, even when sitting on a Ratel many years ago under different circumstances, I was in awe of its beauty.
Fok, going to get misty eyed again    :)
