My clock also switches off. I think  it's 23 litres , according to the manual.

Hey another 2 questions:

1. My manual says the clock is on even if the ignition key is OFF. My clock does not remain on when the ignition is off. What do you guys say?
2. Manual says tank is 23 litres ,yet various sources on the net say its 22litres, so which is correct?

Thanks

I put in 24.5 litres after running out. Since then I have drilled a small hole in the plastic filler neck as described in the mod section at XT660.com. So maybe slightly more than that would be possible now. Would also highly recommend this site and you can also download the Tenere Manual's, workshop and spares once you are a member, costs 10 quid.   :thumleft:

One thing I would highly recommend is run a bead of grease around the airbox side cover, I have noted dust streaks coming in from this area on our bikes.
Yamaha have also recommended that this be done.
I would be very interested in hearing if anybody has dust in their airbox ,pictures would be great, in particular if you have any evidence of dust coming in from the side cover.
Over the weekend I rode shotgun in heavy dust for 60km with the intention of testing my DNA filter and also the side cover, after I had done this and thankfully my airbox was completely clean.
Yamaha are in the process of testing various filters, DNA, K&N and others in an effort to sort this problem out and we should be hearing from them shortly.  :thumleft:

Yamaha are apparently replacing the Yamaha paper filter with the DNA 1st and 2nd stage filter.  DNA are making a restrictor to fit the 2nd stage to match the airflow of the Yamaha snorkel. The reason for the 2nd stage is that Yamaha are unhappy with the existing snorkel plate and how it fits.

I have fitted a taller screen om my Tenere.  Find that the bike snake at about  140km/h.  What can be the problem?
