BOZO, very nice dude.  :thumleft: Maybe a thought. Next time use the 25 mm copper :ricky: pipe and you can build it in such manner to store water ?? It should hold 750 ml or so.
Being in your area one can never have enough water.

I looked at the 25mm pipe but at that point I was more concerned about price than anything else. That is a great idea and would have worked quite well. Anyhoo I have just completed a 1000km and it all worked out quite well. I bought 2 kit bags that have lots of straps and pockets that could be loosened and tucked away. After tying various options I eventuality got it right and they were rock solid. The frame did not give any hassles and Iím pretty happy with the result. I will see if I have a better picture of the bags and add it here.

Dirty XT from what little I know of brakes.
Usually the piston is an inverted cup with the sealed side inside the little sleave with seals like O-rings around the outer edge of the sealed side.
I would not worry about it, but I'm no expert.

cool. thanks! I agree.

Finally stripped my bikes brakes as the rear is done. The rear piston looks like yours, but just to give an example of the 'inverted cup' piston (for lack of a better discription)
Here is the front brake pistons, nice and machined so you can see what I mean.

Any shops I can get a battery from in the gauteng area? I am going to the big bad city soon and need a new battery as the old one died. The people in my home town only have batteries that don't fit...

I bought from the agents for my old XT600E. Expensive at R300 n piece if I remember correctly and it needed to be imported. They should be able to sort you out, if you don't come right with a second hand one.

So just because these awesome bikes are not available brand new anymore, does that mean we can't read about them anymore?  Mine has been under its cover now for about 5 weeks, I just don't get a chance to ride it  :'( :'(

I would rather be here now:

My wife thinks the XTZ is not a pretty bike, but I totally disagree. I can just sit and look at it. Currently a bit under utilized, but will get some serious kms as I will be doing some extensive travelling into Africa, leaving 01 July. Picture of bike whilst busy with preparations.
