Yup, I saw those bikes parked at Ashanti backpackers lodge day before yesterday.
There's 3 of em.

Those teneres look like they've seen some action (broken handguards, etc)

I saw an AT with Zega panniers two weeks ago approaching Cape Town via the N2
he had a numberplate with arabic numerals. I couldn't see his face properly but he had the look of a middle eastern dude

has anyone else see him?

Trans Africa trips are a common thing. Why aren't we doing it too??

And for us you'd be riding away from the mountain...

;D
02/02/12 - RIP Glen - the Arrow of Elliot and the little man with the big heart that truly was larger than life.

You have touched us and left us better for having known you - even if it was only briefly.

For grabbing the moment and living the day It's been way too early that you were taken away

I'd happily head towards pointy pyramids instead of a flat topped mountain.

yeah mate, got told about this site from my mate who got the message at the reception of ashanti. Trip was interesting, roads pretty bad in some spots and some corrupt buggers out there as expected however we didnt pay one bribe the entire way. From London to cape town via france, spain, marocco, mauritaina, mali, burkina faso, benin, nigeria, cameroon, gabon, congo, zaire drc, angola, namibia, botawana, south africa. Took just under 3 months and had a few troubles with bike accessories but nothing major. Engine sucked in a bit of dust because as we have found out since arriving here there is a design fault with the new tenere air box which lets it suck in dust in dusty conditions of which there are alot in the trip we just did. So im thinking yamaha should have to sort out something with the engine since its now burning oil......will see what happens I guess. The bike overall was pretty good though, Im not an overly experienced rider and I made it so all good!

Thanks for joining and telling us a bit suts81! Sounds like an awesome trip... Via the West Coast too -  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Hope you're all spending some more time in SA, exploring some of our excellent roads, tracks and trails.

You heading back to London via the East coast?  ;D

I do not think that dying is a good idea.
Living doing something that you love is a good idea.
Living until you die is a good idea. If living happens to kill you it means you made a mistake, but we are human, and humans make mistakes, so go for it, enjoy it, live until you die, rather than not living for your whole life.
