Went and saw this lot depart on Fridaymorning on a +- 100kms ride. Stillbay to Vermaaklikheid to Jongensfontein(where they camped Fridayevening) and back to Stillbay on Saterday.Nearly 20 tractors in total and one lady driver.

As you can see some were well prepared for the long haul and camping!

This one being the longtouring champ!! Rooftoptent, jerrycans and trommel. He can take on the world!

All the way from Robertson. Seems like these guys also have a "pooratech" section on their forum!

Hanomag. German manufactured.

Moline. American.

And the thumper warming up. Bulldog Lanz 6.7 L single silinder horizontal. It hops while it idles!!!!

Sometimes the Lanze Buldogg's engine starts in reverse. Then there is 3 reverse gears and one forward! Sometimes it simply backfires and then run the wrong way around. Just some trivia ;D

Pics of old steam tractor taken in the Tanqua park in Feb - must have been a bitch getting it to the Karoo 90 years ago - all brass fittings still intact - great to see.

Lots of young farmers from Stillbay and Riversdale have worked for this outfit and made good money that they ploughed into
their own farms and businesses.
They go for 6 months. If the weather is good they harvest 7 days a week nonstop.
