KLX 450 ?
« on: September 17, 2009, 06:50:26 pm »
Hey guys - opinion please. How does the kawa 450 compare to the Yamaha wr 450?
AND, can you road-worthy it?

 :thumleft:
BMW F650 DAKAR ; BMW 650 X-Challenge ; YAMAHA 660 TENERE ; BMW 800 GS KTM 200EXC. Now - KTM 950 Adventure S, KTM 250 XC-W and BMW 450 Rally

if u are interested in something no matter what it is, go at it full speed ahead, luke warm is no good, hot is no good either, white hot and passionate is the only thing to be...

Dunno aboutt he comparison, but saw a road worthy KLX at Centurion Lifestyle. Simple matter of fitting the right light kit I think...
Don't look back, that's not where you're going.

Can not compare the 2. Do not know anything about the Yamaha.

I have a KLX and service another. The bike is the only race 450 with steel valves @ the moment. The rest have titanium me think. Nice bike that you can use all day.  Even for joyrides with my kids. We did now about 2500 km on the 2 of them and can't complain anything about reliabilty so far.
Good bikes with xtras can be had for between R35k-R40k.
Have not had any problems so can't complain about parts avalibility.
Get my service parts from CPR. Parts are cheap next to my KTM.
The 1 bike was bought from Mike Hopkins with roadworthy kit. It was taken off since.
Was told the motor is much the same as the Suzuki 450 quad, but can not confirm.
