Talking about fast dualsport bikes....... :mwink:

On our recent Westcoast trip I reached 136 km/h on the GPS on my Suzuki Djebel 250 XC.

So the sum is: 136 divided by 250 =  0,544 km/h per cc.

So looking at topspeed in relation to cc of the bike, I'm most probably the fastest guy
around ...............and that includes the big Beemers and KTM's   :pot:

 :imaposer:

Hoeveel van daai CC's gaan jy bysit vir die slipstream ?

:peepwall:

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ek moet sÍ daai Djebel het my impress.

Nee daai was tussen Koingnaas en Kleinsee op daardie "boring" stuk pad...........sonder die hulp van 'n groot GS..........Ektoknbike het langs my gery en dit op sy GPS gemeet.

So dit was op eie krag.  :thumleft:

Hey!
ek het 124km/h gekry oppad outriders fest toe agter 'n 1150 so ek het mos eintlik die vinnigste bike?

Sorry Etienne myne was sonder hulp. :mwink:

02/02/12 - RIP Glen - the Arrow of Elliot and the little man with the big heart that truly was larger than life.

You have touched us and left us better for having known you - even if it was only briefly.

For grabbing the moment and living the day It's been way too early that you were taken away

LS thanks for helping them see the light. That was just what I wanted to know, if I wanted to know about your skill, or a combination of your skill and speed I would have asked how fast can you do the Baviaans. Then again I like to do the scenic parts as slow as possible and the boring parts going there as fast as possible. At least I see all the speeders now coming out the closet, hehehe
Talking about a funny car, I once had the thrill of taking a normal dragster for a spin. They told me to hit the NOS only from 2 nd gear up...I did not even get to the gas and karked myself just hitting second and then crossing the line close to 250 and about 5 secons slower than the cars potential. If I had any exta weight I would have had strech marks.
Anyway it would be interesting to see other brands also compare their topspeed. I think tyres play a major role as well as height above sea level.
On BMW i do know the software version of the Canbus and EFI do make differences as well.
Interestingly as I read through some engineering things, the reason why Suzuki changed from air cooled to liquid cooling ( on big bikes) is because air cooling can take away heat at 8000 joule and water cooled at 24000 joule. That explains why on a KTM they wring that extra power out and it takes a bigger engine in air cooled to do the same. However, the stresses on the watercooled components (inside the engine) is so much higher and have a higher rate of failure and also there are less components to fail. But i dont want to open a can of worms here, so I will leave it there for the moment. Ok my GS speedo is out about 4 km/h from 60 to 100, then the fault increases and at topspeed will indicate a healthy running over the clock, around 228 at thrue  219. Then there is the hysteresis fault also on instuments.http://www.google.co.za/search?hl=en&defl=en&q=define:hysteresis&ei=bYe0SpKiEIj-M7OY0doO&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title

OK... I am at a loss here... why buy a DS bike and then go haring around dirt roads at breakneck speed? What is the object?
I suppose taste does differ but I would think the object is to enjoy some of the scenery at an observable pace at least? :pot:
