On 2009-09-18 a 21 year old Male crashed with his BMW bike in Reitz, Eastern Free State.

His right hip and leg was badly broken. At the scene this poor guy waited more than 1 hour 30 minutes for the abulance to arrive. His parenst was at the scene and decided that he must be taken to Bethlehem (Hoogland) MediClinic where he will receive the best medical attention.

Onarrival at this medical establishment his parents was informed that R 25 000,00 must be deposited to the establishments bank account before any medical attention can be given.

The deposit was made and by 2009-09-19 at 09:00 after his mother asked why her son has not received any medical attention and the personnel mentioned that they hasn't been notified that the deposit was made. She informed them to check and it was found that the money was deposited. The doctor who would operate on this guy said that he will proceed if an extra R 80 000,00 be paid for equipment that must be placed in the hip and leg and that it must be ordered from Bloemfontein. Arrangement was made for the money to be deposited. They started with treatent and found that his hip and leg was badly broken and could not be repaired immediately due to the equipment which must arrive from Bloemfontein.

This guy was transfered to ICU due to fever he had. When his fever was controlled and better he was transfered to Dihlabeng Provincial Hospital (Bethlehem).

Currently he is at Dihlabeng Provincial Hopsital where he is receiving treatment due to the lack of service at a private hospital.

I'm requesting all who are reading this must pray for him (Jan Henrik Labuschagne) that his hip and leg heals properly, he is still young and has a bright future ahead of him.

This is a message to all who's got medical aid and thinks they are going to receive good medical treatment at a Private Hospital. Think again! We all hear about the State (Provincial) hospitals and the bad services they render but after hearing about this guy and his families experience and other who were admitted at Bethlehem (Hoogland) Mediclinic I personally don't want to be admitted at this Private Hospital. On the radio this establishment has got a adverticement whereby they inform everybody of the excellent treatment and service you will receive when admitted to their establishment.

Kind regards!
Jenn
