Tenere was great.  Found it to be a little top heavy off road with a full tank.  Quite a bit to handle. Suspension great.  A lot better than the old XT.  1st gear slightly easier to ride through technical stuff.  Standing position better than old XT - quite high. On road a lot better than old XT.

Question now: which was the nicer bike of the two for the roads?
In the tighter sections I preferred the older XT660-R, but for overall touring with panniers, better wind protection etc. the new Tenere is better.
