Hey marshall, some seriously cool shots, what a cool thread, give us some more - pleaazzzzeee

just a question, i see some noise on the surf and ski photos, I assume this is to get your shutter speed fast enough to capture the action.
What sort of a shutter speed is good foor surfing pics? 1/500 or more. And what sort of ISO is a limit for this type of day time shots where you don't really want to go over?

thanks

Awesome!

For those that are interested, there is a Photoshop Plug-in for getting rid of noise.  It's called Noiseware and it really works VERY well.  Will post some pics to demonstrate.  Marshall, if you don't mind I'll grab one of your pics and run it through Noiseware and paste the Before/After.

Wow ....thank you posting  :thumleft:

Love the last one ...Basejumper and the point of no return. That one really talks to me.  :thumleft:

More please.

Years ago I chickened out just before point of no return on the Groot Krakadouw, Cederberg. Base jumping could get you banned from skydining for life in the 80's. Whats the status quo today?

The reason they have noise is that they were originally shot on Slide film Provia 400 ASA and perhaps the scans were not up to scratch 5 years ago

BSAE jumping is legal in South Africa. Even from Table Mountain, provided you have been in contact with the Cape BASE Association, signed the book at the cable station and are accompanied by one of its members.

ALL the bridges on the garden route are legal and any rock wall in SA. the only place you might get kak from are buildings and Antennas which are strictly out of bounds. But if you get permission from the superintendent and dont cause a traffic jam, its also OK

Hey dude that's Awesome.

Its only my older stuff that was shot on Slide that may still have a bit of noise. All the recent digitals are OK

thanks
