Hi all ! Ive just returned from a 30 day 9000km trip with Canadian clients. We had 2 x 650's and 1 x 800 , all 3 brand new , less than 2000km .
Both 650's battery's failed during the trip, unfortunately the 800 didnt last long enough for the battery to fail, it had a big crash !
Both bikes had the same problem, while riding the bike starts to miss, it wont idle and even when the key is turned off you can hear an electrical noise similar to a loose wire or a short . It last about 10 min and then the battery is dead, wont take charge again , throw away and replace ,no further hassel.
The 2 batterys failed on different days, while been ridden, one on a dirt road and one on tar. The only thing i can think of is that the battery itself shorts inside . Could this be caused by dirt roads ? We started off through Namibia so the bikes were on rough roads but then again my bike has done Namibia 4 times this year without a problem. Surely im not the only one thats had this happen ?
