I got just got back from riding Baviaanskloof and was suprised to see that on the WD website under Luckystrikers "Passes Index (quick link)" he has rated the pass as "Skill level: Novice to intermediate"
Although I did not have any mishaps I would definitly not recommend it to a novice.
Has the pass deteriorated significantly since the pass was rated or is my idea of skill level required totally different to others.
On what factors is "skill level required" based?
