A Geriatric cager on the N1 Platekloof hill just got me.
ATGATT saved my ass not my knee and ankle but hey all in the learning curve.
A special thanks to all the dudes who posted tips in the "Survival on a bike for newbies and oldies."
The stuff went in and it paid off.
I was lane spliting at about 45kph traffic at about 15 - 20kph old fart just switched on me, the numbskull didn't even stop :dousing:
There wasn't even a gap for him to take..
Almost managed to avoid it but either he clipped my front wheel or it washed out, don't know which. Went down on the left side infront of a truck. Truck luckily had a scoop on the front and only pushed my along for a meter or so.
Got up and got it together on the side of the road - thanks to the passers by who did stop.
Then back on the bike and rode home lane splitting and all for psych purposes. Only battled a bit with gear change - ankle issues
The bike seemed OK ish
- left peg mushed - cool grove in the tar though.
- Cover on the exhaust graunched
- Handguard Graunched
- Handle bars are twisted to the one side about 5 degrees of centre
Me well the left knee calf and ankle got thumped.
My son and i are comparing grazes to see who's the coolest - I won
I'm not the first and i won't be the last maybe we can start a suport group - as long as there's beer ;D
