My friends 2006 1200gs has blown its engine yesterday. It has done 48850km with all services done at BMW.
Looks like burned piston or valve. We traveled in the Free State at about 140 and it was about 33 deg. midday.
What could have caused it, and if we do the engine how will we be sure it does not happen again.
In 2007 we know there was an batch that run lean.
Does anybody have knowledge on how to check or adjust the mixture to prevent a future insident.
