Heidelberg Regional - Sat 30th Jan
« on: January 31, 2010, 03:52:17 pm »
A great day out with some good results

Clayton Enslin won and Gavin ? (no 6) came second. It's just amazing how these guys ride
The race was 200km and was held over 5 laps
The novices raced over 4 laps

Our team was 2 riders and we entered the 250 Pro class (Andi Pretorius 97) and the 250 Novice class (Riaan van Heerden 109)
Andri came 4th in the Pro Class and Riaan 2nd in the 250 Novice
It is absoultely  amazing the difference in time between the top riders. Clayton basically lapped Andri and over position 1 and 2 were approx 30minutes before position 3 came in

Consider that Andri came 4th in his class and yet almost an hour after the overall winner

Some Pics of the day:

Our two race bikes. I sat this one out as I do not have a regional liscence (only club)

The Pit crew (myself on the left, Riaan, Andri, Donovan (team coach) and Andri's lady Janine ) and riders

Race start

Splash made a guest appearance in our pits  :thumleft:

Pit stop

Some shots during the race

Finally, the race is over

And this makes it ALL worth it ......

Well done guys - you have made us and the sponsors very proud
The next one is the Ermelo 400 in 2 weeks time

See you there !!!!

I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure anymore

No Clayton was riding for KTM out of the Pro-Action pits

Ermelo,
Ja well no fine - I did the deed and upgraded my liscence to regional status - so I'm going to give Ermelo a go
I just hope to finish one loop (110km)
The other two are going for places so it will be an interesting day

Our entrants then will be:
Myself (seniors regional)
Riaan (250 Regional)
Andri (250 Regional and National placing)

One of the organisers said (for what it's worth) the 2 loops are vastly different. The one is a "moeg maak" loop - up and down hills whereas the other will be more Enduro "highway" type.

There is a refuel point on each loop so basically a rider will have 3 service points

The regional riders will do one of each, and the National entrants 2 of each loop
I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure anymore

Keep them coming, lets organize a WD thropy case

For interest , the average speed of the race compared to Enduros?

If I race Offroads, I will be the slowest guy ... Hehehehehhe

Slower than the marshalls

For interest , the average speed of the race compared to Enduros?

There are so many factors involved

On Sat the lap times varied between the top guys from 50mins to 60mins per lap - a lap was 40km
I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure anymore
