Bachelor Dog
Started of in East London on Friday morning and it is raining hard until we get to Mthata.
The plan is to stay in Himeville on the foot of Sani Pass, the next day to Katsi through Thaba Tseka.
From there to Tele bridge and then Lauden's neck to Barkley east and back to East London. It is technically not a difficult ride,
except for all the rain that we got on the trip.
The scenery is like nothing else in South Africa, this place is special, the people friendly and lost in time, and I will be
visiting Lesotho again and again.
Himeville arms lodge, best food and a great place to stay.
Start of the road up to Sani Pass, lots of rain and streams of water every were. One of many river crossings along the way
Halfway up the pass.
Looking up, this pass just go straight up this mountain, it is unbelievable how they got up there in the old days.
Bottom left corner is the road going up the pass, if you are scared of heights don't go there. And she's coming up the mountain.
The view halfway up. The road is in a bad state with all the 4x4 ripping it apart.
Words can't describe this view
The road to Thaba Tseka has been wasted away by the heavy rains in the area.
The Orange river and we must still cross it before Thaba Tseka, people tell us the water level is still to high.
These nice men had to help me, the water-flow was extremely power full, not really deep, but it nearly took the bike out under me.
There was very little left of the bridge, most of the sides was wasted away.
Petrol station in Thaba Tseka
something went wrong at this petrol station
The great Katsi dam
Katsi at sunset
Maluti beer, bloody welcome
The highest waterfall in South Africa, 3100m, on the road from Katsi to Libre.
On top of South Africa.......Lesotho
The road from TeleBridge via Lundean's neck to Barkley East.
This piece of road is DS heaven, twists, turns, switchbacks and everything else.
Look at that piece of mountain that fell in the road. Just outside Telebridge
Up Lundeans neck
This is one of my favourite pics.
Outside Elliot and it is still raining.
Near East London at the Kay river.
And I nearly drop the bike a few kilos from home.
