1st National Offroad - Ermelo 400
« on: February 05, 2010, 12:41:30 pm »
Just looking at the entry list for this event.
See who has moved teams and who is racing what this year.

I see LCP / Infraset is racing against the Puzey Sandstorm Racing team  ;) Any bets?

Other notables. Some we knew, some new.

Wynand Delport to BMW.
Scott Scheepers from KZN got offered the ride in the Brother KTM team, well done.
Lanie vd Walt has moved to GasGas World of Accessories team for the year.
Theo "Pot"gieter is back on a Honda.

Ian has moved the Out of Africa team to the Roost, staying on Kawasaki's. No more Russell Campbell, he is working with DCM chrome team.

Strongest Teams

KTM SA - Brother
Classic strong KTM team , Riaan V Niekerk , Altus De Wet, Ruan Roberts and Scotty Scheepers.

Yamaha DCM Chrome
The one to watch, Louwrens Mahoney, Jade Gutzeit and Bradley Van Aswegen.

The Roost
Caveman Gavin and Stephen Williams are always there in the offroads.
The big Aussie Bryan Bader should battle for the top 2 in the seniors.

The Roost / Out of Africa / KAwasaki team 2 (or 1)
Bollie is always consistent, with Brett Cummings they will be in the top runners.

KTM team 2 - ORD
Spencer Kriel and Mark Garland are good riders, the team is not on Honda's anymore but are without Jarrod Blackman who broke his neck in a training accident.
Brother CJ Blackman is riding.  Jarrod is in rehad, got tingles all over so its positive but long way to go.

WOA - Gas Gas
Lanie is a top 5 finisher , can win the 200 class. Wayne Farmer will be fighting Bader for the seniors title.

Ramco Honda
Another one to watch with Theo Potgieter back and Laurie Murton also riding.

I see LCP Infraset has unleashed a secret weapon on the Regional Seniors, Lyndsay Cotton will be battling my buddy Glen Croeser , Lochner , Bader and Farmer for the title.

Prediction Overall

1. (2) Jade Gutzeit
2. (1) Louwrens Mahoney
3. Clayton Enslin
4. Gavin Louw
5. Ruan Roberts
6. Riaan v Niekerk
7. Theo Potgieter (no racing for his banned year, no clue on his state)
8. Lanie VD Walt
9. Bollie Van Rooyen
10. Wynand Delport

Somewhere.
Spencer - Williams - CJ - Wynand Badenhorst

Seniors
1. Farmer
2. Bader
3. Lochner
4. Croesser - Go buddy !
5. Errol Dalton

Masters
1. Henk Leenstra
2. Ian VD Walt
3. Enzo Choicchi

IMHO of course ;)

Hahahahah   - You've not given up stirring shit  :imaposer: :imaposer: :imaposer:

I'm like a lost fart in a perfume factory - Definately do not belong in that crowd that I'm saddled with, but being a regional - there was no other class on the entry form
I see now that there is a novice class. Miskien moet ek bietjie draad spring  :mwink:
I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure anymore

Lots of white and blue at the top this year. My bet is Jade is going to be the man - he looked awesone at the roof, super-fit and professional. And once Gray is back he will be a sentimental favourite, as the man deserves a bit of luck after last season.
Husky TE610 - (Sold)
KDX 200 #C258 - (Sold)
YZ250 2t (on it's way to OZ!!!)
Montesa Cota 315R (Sold)
The Roof - a strenuous hike the through the mountains of Lesotho with a 100kg backpack.  As acid rain falls on the leaves, And Mother Earth quietly grieves, These blasted pollutants Will make us all mutants, And our kids will wear coats with three sleeves.

Plottie 's pilot should know, I'll ask him when he has landed safely at Ermelo. Plottie are you  landing at Fridays timetrail or Saterday (day 2) at Sheepmore or both?

Butch and Gary were flying to Ermelo when they went down.

Maybe a time to think of life and how lucky we are.
Butch is still struggling and recovering.
Gary is up and about, riding a bike again.

I going in the truck on Thursday already. I'm not doing the time trial but Andri is - we there to support him
My partners are flying in on SAT AM

Yes, I did ask our pilot - he knew Butch well.

Jade and Louwrens have fancy aluminium header tanks built to give the Yamaha 450 MX bikes the range.
They are seriously trick bikes.

Saw the guys adding the finishing touches, mousses etc.

Bradleys 250F is also looking good with its long range tank on.
