L.W. Dit is nie n anti-ATGATT post nie. Ek wil net se dat elke ongeluk situasie so uniek is dat dit heeltemal onlogies is om bv. te se; as ek nie my
Leatt gedra het nie was my nek nou gebreek!

Go big or go home

Eina!!!
Hope he gets better soon.
ATGATT always, but when your number is up, you can die in your sleep.
ATGATT is like medical insurance against extended pain - it is sore for much longer if you Dont have it on!
Blessed are the Cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Your mate is a tough man! Headbutting a Hilux into the scrapyard...
Hope he recovers and is soon back on 2 wheels again.

Just as a note to others though - I was always made to believe that you should NOT remove a riders helmet that was involved in a crash??
By the looks of it it does not appear that there was much left of your mate's Tour X though.

Yes, you should ideally not move his neck at all, unless you know exactly how and have at least first aid training.

Strongs to your friend.

We were at the Oasis this weekend too. The road past Mount Cedar was busier than the N2 on a Monday morning.

Somebody at the rugby told me about this accident last Saturday. He personally knows him and I was amazed when I heard it.

Lucky.

Thanks again for all the best wishes :thumleft:

I was also tought that, and it sure is true. I did make sure his neck was alright before i removed the helmet. Thing is it was very hot and he became closterfobic and hot and wanted to stand up because of it. I made the call to remove the helmet to calm him and is thankful it did not damage his neck. There must have been an angel flying next to him on Saturday :thumleft:

So you are the Wilddog he was talking about. Asked if the guy (Gerrit) was a wilddog but he said no, his mate that was with him was one though.

Can't remember if I asked but was Gerrit wearing a neckbrace?

Moer, big wakeup call! As heas been said before, it can happen to any one of us, whether you are on your side or not.

I need to make a point of slowing down at blind rises and corners.

Glad your bud is OK (ITO life).

Bliksem !
