In 2008, Tyla Rattray took the MX2 world championship title. This book chronologies his year leading up to a final victory. A4 in size and packed with great action photographs, in the style of a coffee-table book. It is more though. Tyla takes one through each race with a short story starting at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands to the end of the season at Faenza in Italy, including a stop at Nelspruit in South Africa.

One is drown into the journey and cannot help wanting to know the outcome of each of the fifteen races. Was a hard fought battle with both Tommy Searle (team partner) and Antonio Cairoli leading the championship at stages. His number four bike becomes instantly recognisable and KTM’s ever present.

A great foreword by Tinus Nel describing Tyla’s racing history. Tyla’s commentary is easily read and provides great context to the extensive presentation of photographs. One begins to study each picture with greater appreciation and understanding. Numerous tables are provided with each race’s results and riders championship standings.

An amazing achievement and beautifully captured. Recommended for anyone that takes an interest in motorsport. He is a legend. Anyone interested in the book for R200 (including local postage) can contact Tracey Rattray-Lumgair at [email protected].
