Middag na Meulstroom

I set out to scout parts of the route I am planning for my trip to Dullstroom next month.

I ended up at Meulstroom, which is about a third of the way to Dullstroom.

I started from wapadrand, PTA east and set out towards Rayton.
Nice little tranquil setting with horses etc (before Rayton);

Pig amongst the cattle..

I continued to Rayton for a re-fueling and set out to explore the service roads.



This is the part where I need that XR650.  :mwink:

I continued with the unused railroad until I reached Ekandustria, after which I took the Modderfontein road.
 


Hooked a left at the Vlaklaagte crossing.

I continued for about 12Km where I decided to take the scenic route. Turned out to be a good decision.
This is where I got off the dirt highway;

Eventually I crossed the R25



Nice and remote  :biggrin:

My remote little road linked me up with the Wilgerevier road. Nice shortcut!

Man, this road is a beauty! I can't wait to follow this one all the way to Dullstroom  





Arriving at Meulstroom!

My return trip went all pear-shaped quick.
Just a couple pics as the sun started to set and I found myself trapped between a swamp and a township called Dark city!

It was about 100Km to Meulstroom and what a pleasure!
