Baviaanskloof - Some advice needed
« on: March 25, 2010, 08:17:51 pm »
Hi

I am planning to take the wife (and therefore the cage  >:()  through the Baviaanskloof  in a couple of weeks time and basically have left myself 1,5 - 2 days to do this, entering from the west (Uniondale). Could someone with some local knowledge perhaps assist with some advice iro the following:

Ideal campspot (i.e. nice and also sort of half way through the place);
Other things to do?
Not to do?

Or is it completely unrealistic to enter early the one morning, sleep somewhere that evening and then get out the following afternoon in the east?

Thanks

Thanks dude - although I was not really planning on doing that (as you will note in my initial request for some advice) :biggrin:

Hi 007

As you plan to come from the west, I would do more than half the distance before camping, as the roads are much better and easier to do than the kloof itself.

As for camping, Geelhoutbos or Rooihoek?
May be Doodsklip.

they have been working on the roads so it should be doable in any half descent 4*4.

Enjoy and don't do anything I wouldn't.

Silence is golden...... Duct tape is silver

Everything works with smoke, if the smoke escapes, it stops working.
