DR650 - Where does it go
« on: April 09, 2010, 05:46:41 pm »
Found this bolt in the wiring on the right hand side, just below the handlebars.
Between the tank and handlebars
Iíve looked , but there are no suspicious looking holes anywhere.
Anyone  seen this type of bolt on their DR.

Wow.....thats a tough one. What size is it? Might have to take the tank off to just so you can have a good look everywhere. All controls nice and tight? Maybe take of the little fairing and check everything there. And might also check everything from the tank forward but lower down. I know its crazy, but who knows, maybe the front tire somehow through it up to where it ended up. Impossible, maybe.

Since its a Phillips, it might be one of the 4 little bolts that hold the radiator mesh.

If you can't find anything...then maybe it was dropped when it was assembled/serviced.

Happy trails

I redid all the controls and plastics with some better fasteners.  Now I only need No. 4, 5 and 6 allen keys to take most of them off.

Thing is, there is no other bolt that looks like this one.

I checked the radiator mesh, the bolts are black and much smaller.

I think its this Inprogress.

That or they did it on purpose to freak me out.  Well it worked.   :o

Does not look like an OEM DR bolt. Don't think the DR comes with any flanged hex with additional phillips slots.
Looks like the bolts used to connect wiring to the battery terminal?
