The Megaladon movie:
I got to tell you that about 3 yrs ago I get home from work and the wife and both my teenage (at the time) kids have just watched megaladon on NatGeo, and they are all like "We are never swimming in the sea again, did you know that sharks get that big?"  ::) Yeah, really.

Movies like this and Jaws is why the sharks are getting nailed everywhere.

Death Wish (Bruce Willis):
Not great but not so bad that you want to switch it off, its like they tried to copy The Punisher and failed...

Gringo (Charlize Theron & David Oyelowo)
Great plot but poor acting and a low budget ruined it, Charlize was great as alsways!

Went to go see 'Avengers' yesterday.

The movie was lekker, I really enjoyed it but the wife was a bit confused as she missed a few movies that I think is vital to the story in 'Infinity War'.

But...

It really reminded me why I go to the movies on a Monday morning when it is not school holidays.

To date, the worst movie experience was when I went to go watch Peter Jackson's Kong movie. Besides being overly long the guy next to me irritated the living piss out of me. And yesterday the same happened again.

Two guys and a kid that could not have been older than six sat a seat away from me to the left. My wife even mentioned that the boy was too young to watch it but I thought their circus, their monkies. But then it happened... The little shit clearly didn't know what was going on and would scream "Who is that?", Where is that?", "Why is he doing that?" throughout the movie. I have kids so just ignored him but the one guy thought it would be cool to give running commentary and then the other dickhead took a call right there in the cinema. I just had to dig deep and bite my tongue...

They weren't the only assholes on their phones and quite a few times people left and used their fucking phones as torches.

I was pretty proud of myself that I kept my cool but again realized maybe it is time to upgrade my home TV system and say goodbye to movies at the theaters.

Grrrr ... I am impressed by you self constraint  Cheap Tuesdays typically my day - Tomorrow it is SOLO... Hee Haaa

I Was SOLO on the weekend.

I was thoroughly prepared to hate it (Don't like the idea of someone other than Harrison Ford playing Solo, Chris Stuckmann's review was scathing), but....
I didn't hate it.
While I was watching it, I was engaged and enjoyed it.
There are some great set pieces and action sequences, a few easter eggs for the fanboys, it was great to witness Solo meeting Chewie and Lando for the first time.

It really was a fun film... plot wise, it's a Western.
It's a good fun ride.

There are issues with the film (namely someone else portraying Solo), a lack of explanation of certain key scenes.
I don't know if the film will get better or worse with multiple viewings. I'm hoping it gets better.

Bottom line though, it's worth seeing.

I enjoyed SOLO .. if you are into the STARWARS  thing - you will pick up on some references to the future - but actually the past films - a good movie to enjoy and see .

I can't believe I am saying this but... fuck 'Star Wars'.

I have no intention of seeing 'Solo' and by the looks of it I am not the only one, the movie is officially a bomb.

I remember saying it somewhere after seeing 'The Last Jedi' that although I had an OK time with it,  there was something off about that movie and the more I thought about it the less I started liking it. It is still the only 'Star Wars' movie I don't physically own on Blu-Ray or DVD and have to desire to watch it ever again. But worse still, it turned me off on one of the biggest properties of my childhood.

I hated the prequels but have watched them a few times but for all the horrible dialogue and overly CGI filled movies it still felt like 'Star Wars' movies. So 'The Last Jedi' did something even the prequels could not do, extinguish my love for the brand.

I'm starting to feel similar.
I loved and hated The Last Jedi.

Disney/Lucasfilm fucked up royally by killing Luke Skywalker... he was the reason we loved those original movies, he was the reason that for decades we wanted sequels.
I dont mind them handing the torch to a younger generation - but he absolutely needed to be a part of those adventures.
With the original cast now out of the new trilogy can it even be considered a sequel?
Stupid ass move if you ask me.

when Carrie Fisher died, they should have done one of two things:
1. changed the storyline somehow to have Leia sacrifice herself instead of Admiral Holdo
2. Kept Skywalker alive at the end.

Disney/Lucasfilm fucked up royally by killing Luke Skywalker...

That is not even my biggest gripe but yes, they killed off two of the LIVING characters and now the only person alive in the movies is dead in real life.  ::)

I don't mind them handing over the torch but the way they have handled the classic characters is atrocious and then telling the fanbase if you don't like the new characters that somehow makes them moaning man babies...

I had nothing against them in 'Force awakens' but even the new characters were wasted in 'The Last Jedi'.  Finn's story arch in 'The Last Jedi... what the fuck was that all about?! Did we really need that whole storyline on the gambling planet with the cat horse things? Not bothering googling names but Christ, that message was handled as subtle as a blow to the head with a jackhammer.

Signing up Rian Johnson for a three movie deal is looking like a big mistake too. He is actively attacking fans on twitter who don't like his movie and is chasing away the old fanbase. 'Solo' better be a wakeup call for Disney... you can't just slap a 'Star Wars' logo on something and it will sell regardless. Lots of people, hardcore, and casual fans don't like the new movies and to double down on the stupid and chasing away your core fans is madness.

Lastly, 'Star Wars' isn't the big boy on the block anymore, there are a few big franchises out there all competing for money and the biggest of them all must be Marvel with their MCU.

Be better 'Star Wars'. Until then I am done.

Well said, Grrrr.. Agree completely. And don't get me started on how Star Wars has become a vehicle for liberal SJW agendas.....  :patch: :dousing:

And the shit does seem to have hit the fan regarding the mess Kathleen Kennedy is making of Star Wars... Grace Randolph is on the money here:

I LOVE Luc Besson's 'The Professional' and 'The 5th element' so thought I would give 'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' a try even though it got very "Meh..." reviews.

I like Scifi, but this was a tad to weird for me. I got about 40mins into it before I switched it off. Visuals are pretty good but like I said, it is just too weird...

Is daar nie n nuwe Transformers fliek wat jy wil gaan kyk nie?

Jy hou dan so baie daarvan, jy gaan kyk elkeen.
