And Peter Jackson's Mortal Engines are looking spectacular indeed....  :thumleft:

This gives me a 'Dark Tower' vibe. I couldn't finish that movie.

Should be worth watching.
I just hope its not a case of them showing all the action in the trailer.

I am a big fan of the 'Mission Impossible' movies, especially the later ones. Watched a bit of the second one that John Woo directed, man... hilarious!!!  :lol8:

But from 'Ghost Protocol' they became seriously badass.

I just realised 'Mission Impossible 2' theme was done by Limp Bizkit...

Remember them?  :lol8:

Makes the movie a little more ridiculous, you have to love it.

Watched 'A Quiet place' yesterday.

I really enjoyed it, until... and I don't think this classifies as a spoiler but warning anyway... the CGI monsters show up.

I just enjoyed the build-up to the final act more so is a small nitpick.

Overall a good watch and the performances of the actors, especially the kids were very good.

Agreed -- I think they had a bit of a low budget for effects, but great watch nonetheless. That one scene though... was the most intense thing I've ever seen in a thriller...  :eek7:
BTW, the director, John Krasinski, and Emily Blunt, are real-life husband and wife.

I hear Emily can be quite blunt.

I started watching it. And then realised that the subtitles were in Korean, and you kinda need the subtitles to watch the movie unless you can read sign language.

But I will try again. The first coupe of minutes were already intense and intriguing.

Although not a new movie (2016), I watched Blood Father recently. I don't know how this one slipped past me, but I really enjoyed Mel Gibson in this one.

I was really looking forward to watching this.....

I think the story line lends itself to a thriller very well, but like you say it falls flat when those comical CGI "creatures" arrive. With better thought out baddies this could have been brilliant. Great idea but the execution just falls a little short...

Haha. Sadly, yes. While I wait impatiently for fiber to be installed where I moved to, I've had to resort to borrowing USB sticks from friends again. It feels like I'm back in the dark ages.

But it looks like the wait is over. Should be back online within 2 weeks. Vodacom is going to take a knock, seeing as I've been burning through between 30 and 40 gigs of data on my phone for 5 months in a row. I hope they can still pay their rent.

Same here heard good things and movie was brilliant until the eventual reveal.

I get they probably didn't have a very big budget for CGI effects but those things really were lame looking. Which was a pity... the rest of the movie was awesome.

Still, worth the R30 on boxoffice. I have rented worse, much worse... looking at you 'Justice League' and that retarded 'Pacific Rim' sequel. I blame the wine.
