....And to me Hathaway is the least likable actress since Glenn Close....

Urgh..... I was forced to sit through this dreck recently.

I totally got why her movie husband fucked other woman. I would make sweet love to the postman to get her out of my head....

I love my wife, but if I have to watch another movie staring Hathaway I will file for a divorce.

And while on the subject of shitty movies....

Fuck you Robert De Niro!

You used to make great movies, USED!!!

Now you make the biggest load of shit after the other for a paycheck. I don't blame you for taking the money but they parade him around "Acadamy Award winner Robert De Niro" in every shitty movie he is in. It might not be a lie but he hasn't been in anything decent in well over a decade.

So yes, fuck you De Niro, I am looking at you, you old tool.

What ever the fuck happened to Kevin Spacey?  Too busy / monied with House of Cards?
The three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40 and a hammer.  If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape.  If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40.  Otherwise use the hammer.

The last great De Niro movie was Heat.
That restaurant scene with Al Pacino still blows my mind every time I watch it.

Two heavyweights in the prime of their careers.

O, and its a Michael Mann movie.
I love him as director.
One of the greats.

Spacey is in Baby Driver - looked somewhat shit to me, but it got some decent reviews. Great cast, all style over substance.

More reviews.

Then watch this.... He did his "review" a week before the release and without seeing it and he is spot on.  :lol8:

Enough! Make it stop....

But they won't, these all make a billion dollars....

But I do enjoy a new Transformers movie for one thing. Seeing everybody shitting on them, it is very entertaining.  ;D

I continued on my Sci-Fi expedition on Saturday morning - only managed 2 movies before I had to give up the viewing to rugby.

Blade Runner - yes, I know I am a couple of decades late to the party. I really enjoyed it, it is with tremendous awe that I watch these masterpieces in special effects from a time when the "computer integration" on a daily and personal level is also an invention of the special effects team. Very slow in its pace to the climax, but I like patience in a movie. I also like the story about what it means to be human in a world of hi-tec and artificial life.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - I am not a Star Wars fan, so there. That is why I like the single movies, the non-prequel non-sequel. And I liked this. Was a good space story with loads of action and characters I'm happy (sort off) that I did not get invested in. The only thing that was weird was the humour. It was as if they decided that it was just getting too serious and stuck in blind-man and robot for some light hearted comedic relief. It was just strange.

Something else that isn't new:

I saw Kong: Skull Island last night and I really enjoyed it!
This is how you make a reboot (if you absolutely must...)
Sure, the characters were flat-out boring and I didn't shed a single tear for Kong like I did way back as a pre-teen in the early eighties when I watched the 1976 version, but it was still fun.
It's a lekker movie. Sam Jackson is playing his motherf*$ng self and John C. Reilly is doing the same stuff he did in Talladega Nights but I loved that!
Tom Hiddleston is woefully miscast though. I absolutely didn't care whether he got eaten by a monster or not

Which version of Blade Runner did you watch?
The theatrical version and directors cut are very different. both are good, but one is superior... but it's only superior if you've watched the other version.

Well what I do know is that it isn't the one with voice overs during some scenes. That's all I know.

Yeah it was cool, I really enjoyed it. But not a reboot in my mind - they should just have called it Skull Island and left it there. It was a monster movie with a bit of Jurassic Park, island paradise full of deadly monsters in it. Humans were the spectators that applauded too much, that put the attention on them and then all hell broke lose.

I hated that movie so much
It's not because I'm a fan of the TV series. I can barely remember it

Aside from Science Fiction, action, thrillers and mystery drama, I also love a good detective story. And this might be it
