XT660Z Rally Edition
« on: April 22, 2010, 09:48:09 pm »
saw this on Centurion Yamaha's site: Yamaha XT660Z Rally Edition, in Lucky Strike and Chesterfield colours. quite a nice touch, but retails for R99 500 - that's 10K more than the standard XT660Z!

not mad about the luckystrike kit - but mainly because it could have been done better (for cheaper)

I've been planning on doing mine in something very similar. Local spray artist quoted me R3 000 for the job.
Present bikes: BETA 300RR, KTM 690, Yamaha WR250F

10 out of 10 for the guys at Centurion trying to do something different... Specially in the present bike trade market.

IMHO... It would have had major impact if they still retailing their "limited edition" XTs at the standard price.  ::)   ...Suck in the costs of a sticker kit, and motivate increased sales volumes. Always better to add value, as apposed to discounting.

Exactly what I thought. :evil6:

They should at least take a brake disc and a caliper off, for weight reduction and considerably less unsprung mass in the front.
And keep theat camping fridge in favor of a rack to carry maybe a choice of luggage hard or soft.

What is the stock levels in the country for the XT660Z? Last I heard they were selling all they got in and more. Is the hype slowing down a bit?

There can be only one...   (Will almost make me buy a BMW)  In the 80's, Volkswagen actually release a Pink Floyd version of the VW Gold; needless to say that this pissed David Gilmour off, because he did not want to be associated with a Car.
