I asked a salesperson on the Yammie stand at AMID - Super Tenere (First Edition) R 129K with headlight protector, ally panniers & an ally bashplate

then I wandered over to BMW - stock GS1200 (no farkles)  R 134K

hmmmm.....

At the end of the day its going to come down to price for someone that isint brand driven.

I reckon you've hit it smack bang on the head  :thumleft:

+ 1 I think it is a bike that will grow on you.......just make bloomin sure it does'nt fall on you :imaposer:

The bike is R129 000.00 standard. With panniers(side boxes only),bashplate and headlight protector R138 000.00
I was at the launch.

Also remember at R138 000.00 included is 2 mapping modes,one for performance,ABS and Dual braking and Traction control.Just does not have heated grips standard but available as a Yamaha accessory.

The launch will only take place on 18 May at 19:00 at Linex Yamaha in Randburg.  There were two bikes at AMID.  The price are R129009 (no extras)  and R138000 (with extras), but keep in mind that this FirstEdition model is only available with the extras, so basically the price is R138000.

It seems that way.  I overheard one of them telling someone the same story you were told, while the guy talking to my stated the bit about the "First Edition" only being available with the extras.  This is the way it was launched in the UK as well.  The salesman who said it was available without the extras, then went to great pains to explain how silly it would be to take it without the extras as they are valued at much more (can't remember  the figure) than the R9k price difference.

Agreed that it is a good buy, with or without the extras.  Looks like a lovely bike as well.
