Screen sizes and pic sizes
« on: April 30, 2010, 08:17:07 am »
Hoe wide is the standard Wild Dog user screen?

Is my banner to wide? (or is your screen just too small  :ricky: )

In general, how wide do you make photos? 800x600 ? 640x480 ?

And your banners?

I'll use this thread in general to test some photo and movie sizes, so I'll need feedback from you guys...

I don't know about the size but the banner IS too wide  :peepwall:

Please take a screenshot (like I did  :deal: ) and post it, so I can see how much smaller I must make it.

Surely if I was obsessed with motorcycles I’d have more than one; no two; no three; no no, four… ah, never mind…

My Screen:

Wow, do you have the bottom of Coke Bottles for glasses??? Those letters are huge.

Tip: Press Ctrl, scroll mouse down...  (and up and down until the size is more manageable)

Let my know if this solves the problem, otherwise I'll happily make a plan.  :)

The laptop doesn't have a mouse scroll feature  :mwink:

Borrow a friend or colleague's usb mouse and plug it in. Alternatively hold Ctrl and press the plus or minus keys on the keyboard. They should be just to the right of your numbers row...

Do I have to tell you how to do everything around here?   :peepwall:

Alternatively, just make your banner pic smaller  ;D

Photos that are posted should not be wider than 800, which fits on my screen perfectly, so maybe you should narrow your banner.

edit: I see your bottom logo is 1011 wide, try changing it to 800 wide.

I'm happy with my screen the way it is  ;)

Check Aprilian's screenshot. It fit's perfectly. Also look at my first screenshot. The banner is already quite a bit smaller than my screen width. If I make it any smaller, it's more like a bumper sticker.

Plus, as the saying goes...

There's your problems, and then there's my problems. This sounds to me like your problem...   :lamer:

Reduce your banner size by at least one third 1/3. I'm running Firefox and Outlook next to each other and everybody else's   pics and banners fit

I also never go wider that about 700px (800 at max).

Remeber - even if most screens out there runs at 1024x768 you have to bare in mind that a pic don't start
at the very left of the screen - it is always about 200px from the left with the avatar space and the rest.

That's also why I try and use 700px as a max width for pictures.

Btw - I always think certain coincidences funny and interesting and this one is also semi cool.
Today's C&H is about pictures that are so wide that you have to scroll
;D ;D ;D
