For some reason some bikes just never catch on. And it certainly does not mean they are bad bikes, maybe just underrated or net well known. Few I can think off :

Yamaha TT600R, mostly sold in Australia and Europe. Yamaha's XR ?

Kawasaki KLR250. My friend had one, only bike I have ever ridden that cannot spin it's back wheel on dirt  ;D Reliable and does the job, like I read on ADVrider "you need 18 hp to ride around the world, the rest is wheelspin"

Suzuki DR350, followed up by the DRZ 400. A good allrounder with decent suspension and knarly offroad ability.
