And Metaljocky can also put it on a bar counter and do a rev limiter burnout, just to be sure that the new S-Ten can handle a little abuse also...

JULES - he already owns a Tenere and is a beeeeeg Yamaha supporter, it is only natural for him to be part of the Super Tenere launch, he will do the brand justice :thumleft:

Metaljockey for the win...

He has contributed some absolutely epic ride reports, knows his bikes, in short, he is the most capable person to give a fair, unbiased, and thouroghly readable account of the bike and the launch.

MJ - don't go getting stage fright now...  :deal:

Its a tie, both MJ and Jules got 17 votes.....let them both go. (and Mark Hardy could take the pictures)

Or even better, why dont Yamaha donate a bike to the WD's, have a WD Yamaha day, then everyone could have a go at it... ;D

I vote for Metaljockey.

As stated above,

* I feel he will give an honest, unbiased review of the bike.
* If the bike is kak, he will say so.
* If the bike is great, he will say so.
* He will write a kick-ass ride report.
* He is well respected here on Wilddogs and on the mother-site, AdvRider.
* People listen when he talks (or writes).
* He has huge experience with bigger bikes and he can ride with the best of them, ie Jan Staal.

Thanx ICM (I owe you a beer ;)) but I respectfully withdraw.  I don't nearly have enough experience to represent the dogs at such an event and to give just feedback.  Think there are many better nominations who will add value to such an event?

Nobody wants anyone to do the brand justice. Perhaps the guys at Yamaha but not the guys on here. We want an objective opinion. However much I appreciate Jules' input I rekon a non-Yamaha rider should go.

whoever does represent us dogs must ride a GS/A as the Yami is targeting that particular market as a tourer both tar and gravel.
I think it illogical to send a KTM,KLR,DR riders as these bikes are totally different to the 1200 range and what we use them for.

The guy should be able to write, ie, articulate thoughts into comprehensible copy. Riding experience is another plus. Fair technical knowledge too.

MJ ticks all the boxes.

If the above aren't requirements, allow me to humour you with the following suggestions:

1. BigDom - "Is there potential for farkling?"
2. The Wes - "How well does it stand up to repeated wipeouts?"
3. N[]va - How long will it last with the proper amount of mechanically unsympathetic abuse?" (deur sy gat trek)
4. Jabu - "What can this baby really do on dirt?"
5. KilRoy - "Is the bike Christian or atheist?"
6. Pistonpete - "Can I find surfaces to be painted in a different colour?"
7. SharkZA - "Isn't Super Tenere ownership really another, subtle form of laagerism?"
8. Sot - "Is it hardcore like me? Bah! Nothing is."
9. Cloudgazer - "How many gears does this thing have and why can't I fit an espresso machine on the luggage rack?"
10. Leo - "Where can I stash some Red Heart on this baby?"
"The test of a man is not the forum nor the field; not the marketplace nor the amen corner, but at his own fireside. There he lays aside his mask, and you may judge whether he be imp or angel, king or cur, hero or humbug." -  William Cowper Brann
