I have gone away from the big heavy DS bikes since I sold my Tiger.

I now have the best of all worlds. A KTM 690 Super Motard, a XT 600, a Fazer FZ1 for the long road hauls, KXF 250 for the really rough stuff. Oh and a Wild Star XV 1600 to take the wife on breakfast runs with.  :biggrin

I use my KTM 690 SM on dirt and adventure rides, it is awsome on dirt roads, ask all those behind me.

ok so now I really wanna know why you dont like it?

dont see why, once your technique is correct the knobblies only allow you to be more of a nutter, slicks wont stop you from riding dirt

You just never which bike you are going to get every time you ride it; it is real temperamental bitch.

Some days its goes like the clappers and is good fun; next day it will not start or it cuts out every time you stop at a light or stop street.

You have to calibrate the throttle and engine management system every other time you ride.

It has a nasty habit of losing power midway through he corner, when you really don't want it to do that.

The other day it nearly flipped in 3rd gear, but the day before the wheel would not come up in 1st.

It's a bit like the Alfa I once owned; one day you love it and the next day you hate it, at the moment it's a hate period.

Oh the other thing it corrodes really badly and costs an arm and a leg to service.

It has also now developed a clutch rattle and it only has 10,000 k on the clock, that would never happen on one of my Yamaha's or the Kawakaki.

I assume the enduro version which has the same mechanicals will have the same issues.
