Quick Saturday morning offroad
« on: May 24, 2010, 12:02:27 pm »
me and a buddy went out for a mini offroad adventure on Saturday. we went riding at a construction site near the Rigel offramp, and then took the bikes into the rough stuff in Erasmuskloof. wow, there's some really tough technical terrain out there! we just did some of the easier trails. we spoke to two guys on YZ's who rocked up there and had a look at them riding the boulder strewn trails. we'll definitely be going down there again soon! i was on my XTZ125, and my bud on his XR400 (which he bought from Blazes!)

hi madmike. it's a huge open field with lots of trails, next to the N1 just by the Rigel offramp. you can see it clearly from the N1. if you go up Lois rd from the Menlyn mall, towards Erasmuskloof, you pass a couple of mini circles until you reach to top of the hill. it's basically at the highest point in Lois rd, there is an entrance into the veld on your right with some short poles across it. it's basically the huge undeveloped veld area next to Kloof Hospital.

It is an old 4x4 track. Plenty of hijacking in that area. I would suggest that you don't go alone and if you go as a group be very careful. Safer to do De wild of Maraizburg

I spoke to Leo and Muz, we will do a technical ride at Maraizburg soon, will then decide if its worth doing a newby ride aswell.

The experienced guys can make the call once they have riden there.
